Thanet

The Vision

Since taking on the site in 2019, it has been our vision and hope in creating an all new, bespoke, purpose built nursery and now it has become a reality.

The Thanet nursery houses 5 rooms with a capacity to take children from 3 months to 5 years. We are open all year round (closed one week at Christmas). Our ethos relies heavily on recycled materials and natural resources creating an environmentally friendly setting.

Visually our aim is to create a natural, warm and exploratory environment where your children will develop skills for life long learning in a space that feels like a home away from home.

Here at Under 1 Roof Thanet Nursery, we aim to provide a rich and stimulating learning environment that will cater towards your child's individual learning style and need. This will encourage positive relationships with adults and peers, the ability communicate effectively and develop the skills needed to become independent life long learners, solve problems and be critical thinkers. Within the nurturing and caring environment of Under 1 Roof, these attributes will flourish through lots of imaginative, play based learning.

Once children have been enrolled into nursery, parents will be instructed to download an app which is the main form of communication with Nursery and home. Parents will receive observations in the form of pictures or video’s, so you can see just what your little one has been doing during their day at U1R Nursery. These observations are also linked to their EYFS and messages to and from nursery can be sent. There is also the facility to upload pictures and video’s from home which are lovely to see and can also be linked to their EYFS learning journal.

Daily diaries are sent home via Famly App with information regarding; how long they have slept, activities they have taken part in, this will also tell you about feeds/nappies, what foods they have eaten etc.

Our team are highly skilled and have a great deal of experience within the EYFS and childcare. We have a fully qualified SENCO, two qualified designated safeguarding leads, level 6 and level 3 qualified staff, two qualified teachers, a forest school leader, as well as those starting their career through apprentiships. Nearly all of our staff have paediatric first aid qualifications, which is not a legal requirement, but something that we are passionate to have all of our staff trained in to help keep your children safe.
